In Cambodia agriculture is one of the important part for the economic especially rice. We want to lean more about different type of agriculture not only the rice but other vegetables, fruits and more. We plan out the tirp to Bantanbang and Phour Sat to learn and explore more about agriculture. We went and worked with Srer Khmer organization that they help the farmer to produce more yield, the technique and use the right amount of chemical. Srer Khmer usually teach the community about rice, so after listen to their presentation we went with them to see some of the rice fields. While we observe the rice field and other farm we asked them some questions, it helps us to use their advice to actually do it in Liger.
Pronunciation
This year we are focusing on speaking especially students pronunciation. In one week I have three pronunciation classes two days in Essential time and one day in expertise time. Jan is our pronunciation teacher. He taught us to speak clearly, slowly and louder. In a few weeks I learned how to pronounce letter ‘V’ and ‘W’. It’s really difficult for me to pronounce those words and it confused me a lot. I tried to use those words in the correct pronunciation every day I speak those words. Now I’m really confident with those words. But I need to work on other things like pronounce the last consonant, pronounce the word to in correct sound and other fluency.
Some exercises that we used to improve our fluency like singing, do some recording and choose the words those are difficult for me to pronounce. We also practice our pronunciation by some books.
My favorite part of the pronunciation class are pronounce the word that used only mouth to pronounce but not make any sound and let my partner guess the word. The other favorite part of this class is listening to the music with headphone and let my partner pronounce the word and let me guess it. It’s really hard for me to guess because I can’t hear any sound, so I need to understand my partner mouth.
Workshop With The University Students
This is the event that I join and work with the university students. This event is 3 days long but me I can only join for 2 days. I and Sythong is the special students that join this event only us from Liger join this event. In the workshop we are the youngest students that in this workshop. This workshop is focus on insect and especially bee and wasp.
The purpose of this event is to encourage more people especially student to learn and research more about insect. Insect is the most diverse animal on earth but there are less people that study about it. In the first day I learned a little bit about different type of insect and the expert explain deeply into wasp and bee. He taught us how to distinguish between wasp and bee. He also taught us about some of the characteristics about those insect. In the break time I do some networking with the expert and the university students. The last activity that we do is learning about catching the bee and wasp by using the net. In the next day we have a field trip to Kampong Spue to catch more bees and wasps in the wild. We divided into two groups. On the route I saw a group of bees that build the nest in the tree hole but it hard for us to get it for our sample and I also catch some wasp too. This conference is the real life research which mean we are doing research like the expert too.

Adobe After Effect
In the last seven weeks I have an independent Discovery that is about Adobe After Effect. I’t’s new for me but I think this program is really powerful and can help me a lot with animation and add the effect to the video. I like to learn about new technology like Adobe product.
Independent Math
In one week I had one hour to work on math independently. This is really important for me and other Liger’s students to have time and learn independently. This type of curriculum helps to guide us for the future because we will learn to research most of the time by myself. In the independent period, I used the website call Khan academy which allow me to practice algebra word problems, linear equations, geometry and so on. This website also contains many more features, if I do the practice and I don’t know how to solve it I can watch the tutorial video. The tutorial help me to understand the unit that I’m working on but also explain me the process to solve it. Most of the time I used Khan academy to learn but sometimes I used this time, to prepare for the quiz or a project that related to math.
Science Story (Sink or Float)
We are trying to help educate Cambodian’s students to learn more science. So our teacher have an idea to make the book that have the science method in there. We tried to make the book that will attract more kid to read by making fun story with science in there and attractive pictures. The book is include two languages witch are Khmer and English. I and Visal are making the book that is about buoyancy. Our book tittle call Sink or Float and in our book we have funny characters like Mr. Coconut, Mr. Rock and Mr. Ball. We decide to use the as our characters name because the kid in Cambodia they like to play the ball, so it will attract more kid to read our book.
3D Blender
So part of my master plan exploration I had a chance to learn a program called Blender with a teacher from ARC Hub PNH . I love designing and explored new things with technology so this expertise was a great experience for me. Due to the fact of my interest in Blender, I have obviously understood the lesson so easily with the lesson. I’m happy with what I’m doing so in the class I played an important role to help my friends to learn the task and fixed all bugs that we all struggled with. “Nothing is impossible unless with try it.”
Podcasting
This year I involved in an expertise that calls podcasting and this class lead by Rich that was our teacher. He taught us how general thing about what is podcast and listened to some of the podcasts that other people have done it. I learned about the different type of recording equipment that they normally use to record the sound. It’s hard to make a professional podcast especially for me that it’s new to the podcast. We learn how to record some technique that can reduce the background noise when we record. We want to create a podcast about someone biography during Khmer rouge. So in the class, we have some students research about the Khmer rouge period and for my team, we start to research and find the sound effect that might relate to the Khmer rouge period. We decided to interview some people that have a hard time with their life and the situation after Khmer rouge. We started to interview (“The name”) to more information about their situation. After we interview we gather all information then put it in our podcast. My role is the editor, so after my team does the interview I started to do some editing to the recording like taking the wrong part, combined some parts together and so on.
